Tom decided that it was time to finally figure out what was goingon.
His wife, Lynn, had been acting strangely and he just couldn'tfigure it out. Was she cheating? All the signs pointed to it -her loss of interest in their sex life, her sudden love of golf(a sport she had refused to learn for him), and she was no longerupset when his work schedule made him late for dinner or requiredtravel.
One night Lynn received a phone call. Tom had answered the phoneand the man on the other end asked for Lynn. Still trying totrust his wife, Tom handed the phone to Lynn without asking whowas calling. Maybe it was someone from her work. Or it could beone of her fellow students from her night classes. Tom hoped. ButTom immediately knew he was wrong to keep assuming the best.
